The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) collars black bears in Minnesota to understand how far they travel during the summer months and also to find them during hibernation. The DNR has a GPS system that allows the bears to be tracked on a daily basis, and the data are triangulated in order to calculate distance traveled. The time is delayed on this bear tracker in order to protect the bears during the summer months and during hibernation. In order to utilize bear tracker, you must download google earth.
