Cardiac Veins
Coronary Sinus Ostium Coronary Sinus Posterior Interventricular Vein Posterior Vein of the Left Ventricle Left Marginal Vein Great Cardiac Vein Anterior Interventricular Vein

Location:
The ostium of the posterior interventricular vein is typically near the ostium of the coronary sinus itself. In most human hearts we have observed a valve associated with the ostium as this venous drainage enters the coronary sinus.

Function:
This cardiac vein returns deoxygenated blood (metabolic waste products) from the posterior aspects of both the right and left ventricles: as this vein typically follows along the posterior ventricular septal border.
